The most familiar Specialty Printing techniques include Letterpress, Embossing, Foil Stamping, Engraving, and Thermography printing.

Letterpress is the oldest form of printing. Ink is applied to a raised surface that is then pressed into the paper, leaving both color and a physical indentation in the page.

Embossing is the process of creating a three-dimensional image into the paper. Embossing used with foil stamping is called combination stamping.

Foil Stamping is the application of metallic foil, often gold or silver, but can also be various colors, metallic's and patterns.
