Tape Sculptures by Mark Jenkins

Posted on September 23, 2013Mark-jenkins

Washington DC artist Mark Jenkins does a lot more with tape than just stick things together. The man is actually somewhat of a pioneer in the packing tape sculpture game, fabricating life sized models and putting them in interesting situations. By doing this almost exclusively in public, Mark merges the worlds of sculpture, street and interactive art, providing a surreal experience to any fortunate pedestrian who happens to wander by. It's a project that certainly forces one to look at their everyday tools/supplies in a different light - anything can be art! You can watch a sped-up time lapse of Mark's fascinating process, along with a few crowd reactions in the video after the jump.
