Leica was looking for a fun way to market their latest line of high-resolution cameras. The company is renowned amongst photographers for its prestigious line of professional-quality cameras that capture an insane amount of detail. To hit this idea home they produced several billboards, each of them customized for the location. The concept is deceptively simple, yet effective. The billboard shows an extremely sharp close-up shot of the surface it is placed upon, flaws and all, creating a magnifying glass effect that forces people to do a double-take. We have to admit that this campaign is so effective that we now lust after Leica's cameras for their sharp capturing abilities. Sometimes the most basic ideas are the ones that get the job done.
